I feel like I am one of the luckiest people ever. I was hired to teach. For real. Which means I get paid to read, study, and learn from a classroom of people. Life doesn't get much better than that. My current title is Associate Professor of Missional Leadership at Wartburg Theological Seminary. It's a fancy way of saying I get to help people think about leading people as they move toward something, in light of who God is and what God is up to in the world. And, to put the icing on the cake, I get to not only do that in a classroom with people who are feeling called to professional ministry, I get to provide administrative oversight to a whole bunch of opportunities for people to explore their own vocation from wherever they might live. Here at Wartburg we call that Learning for Life. So, not only do I get to teach, I get to partner with other people, organizations, and networks to create ways for all people to learn. How cool is that?
